We have a holiday to give thanks for the things that we have in our lives, we call this holiday Thanksgiving. We are thankful for the food that we set before our families on this day, we give thanks that we have our homes to live in, but most of all we give thanks for our families.
The table was set with Johnson Brothers The Friendly Village china (part of sixteen place settings bought at the VOA last year).
The flatware is Rogers Remembrance pattern (an Ebay purchase years ago).
The place mats came from Fabby's Blog Anniversary give away last year.
The runners and napkins are Park Designs Indian Summer pattern bought at Marc's last summer.
Green glassware from Marc's ( two for a dollar) and cabbage leaf gravy boats from HomeGoods years ago.
Candles and napkin rings were thrift store purchases last summer.
Congratulations to my son and his lovely wife at the birth of their first child, Baby Eugenia was born at 2:47 AM this morning. Now I am really Thankful!
You may like to visit my doll blog ( http://littlejosdollparty.blogspot.com/) for a fun story about how the dolls helped set the table for Thanksgiving dinner. You can read about them **HERE**
Little Jo's Doll party in a blog about the adventures of the dolls of our ten (ten as of this morning) grand daughters. Each of the doll is named for a grand daughter. The dolls all live at Grandma's house helping her in the garden and around the house.
Thrift on ladies, thrift on....

Congratulations on the birth of your granddaughter! How special to have a tiny one this close to Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of your festive table, Candy. I have always liked those dishes, but never found a set at the thrift store...like I need one more dish in my house! I wish we had a store like Marc's around here...you always find the best things there.
Have a great weekend...and spoil that baby as much as you can!
Oh, Candy, I love your table. I'm a Friendly Village girl myself and enjoy it every Thanksgiving and Christmas season. I love your placemats, too. They go so well with the plates! You've created such a pretty space for the holiday. How exciting to welcome a new granddaughter into the world! Congratulations!! Your holidays will surely be extra special this year. The best to you and your family during this exciting time!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch

ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Candy! You must be so proud! Beautiful setting, and the green glassware is fab!
ReplyDeleteOh what a sweet baby - you must be over the moon. Your table is wonderful and I already enjoyed the doll post about how they helped you to set the table. I'm amazed that you can remember when and where you bought everything - seems like last summer was a good shopping time. I love love love those dishes (read - "jealous") and the glassware is perfect. Another fabulous table - I always wait for the next one - wondering what new and spectacular table will you show.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all let me congratulate you on the birth of this BEAUTIFUL baby. What a real doll. Her cute head of hair and such beautiful lips. Your table is stunning as well. I will check out your story about your little helpers. Love your posts.

ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra, I am a very happy grandma!
DeleteCongrats on the birth of your new grandchild. Love this table, and I love the use of two runners as placemats.
ReplyDeleteCandy, I love Friendly Village. I only have place settings for four. I need to find a bargain on some more of them. Your table looks beautiful. I can't believe that beautiful stemware was only 50 cents each!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, You have no idea how thankful I am to have Marc's where I find so many fabulous buys like the pretty green stemware that I used for this post.
ReplyDeleteWow, all this table décor is truly stunning. The color scheme is ravishing. Thanks for sharing the pictures here. You just gave me wonderful ideas for my thanksgiving party that I am going to host at most popular Los Angeles event venues.
ReplyDeletePark Designs does have some of the prettiest table linens out there and they are beautifully made too. They can be hard to find but it is well worth taking the time to look for them.
