Dining With The Owls - a Fall Tablescape

I love fall,  I love the fall colors that abound in our home decor this time of the year. Warm golden tones mixed with rusty reds and browns will tend to prevail on the tabletop for the next few weeks. Pumpkins, pine cones, acorns, and owls come to my mind for fall decorating.

There's a lot of fall going on in this picture. I like the colorful owl,  he managed to jump into my shopping cart at Walmart a couple of months ago.  The spiral wooden handle flatware came from the Goodwill a couple of years back.
While I was arranging this table it went through several transformations. I wanted to use my new amber Tiara snack plates somehow. The odd oval shape made them a little hard to work with but I kept rearranging until I was happy with the layout. I also ended up changing out the centerpiece for a less fussy look.
Originally I set the centerpiece on a rattan tray on the table, but hubby thought the table looked to cluttered.
I ended up putting it on a Party Lite raised candle plate  (looks like a cake plate to me).  The table looked a little less cluttered that way.

There are owls peeking out from either sidle of the candles on both ends of the table.

The owl plates and the napkins with the turkey jingle bell napkin rings are laying on a brown plaid table covering.  I had been looking for a brown plaid tablecloth for quite a while when I found this window scarf (brand new in a sealed package from J C Penny) I paid a $1.50 for it at the VOA's 1/2 price Wednesday sale. I cut the scarf to the length I needed and it was exactly what I had been looking for.
The Owl and the hen watch from either side of the dining room to see if there is anything that they are missing out on.  The gourds on the shelves are vacationing from their usual perch on top of the kitchen cabinets.

The amber tiara plates are sitting on the white Paula Dean Whitaker dinner plates.

The chargers are from Walmart.
Amber glassware and amber sherberts go nicely with the leaves and acorns that fill in between the place settings.

An brown gourd sits nestled on a white corn plate.

Another gourd sits on a Portuguese asparagus plate.

Have a great day and come back to visit again real soon.  The coffee will be hot and waiting for you when you get here.  Stay happy!
