Seashells and Roses Coastal Tablescape

I wanted to create a coastal tablescape in the soothing beach tones of a sandy beach.  I used the white fish embossed dinner plates (again) with a pretty salad plate and a white shell shape bowls.  I wanted to pick up on the feeling of a bridal party champagne breakfast.  White roses seemed appropriate for the centerpiece along with a few well placed shells among the flowers.   The concrete shell shape planter (from Marc's a decade ago) was stuffed with re-cycled Styrofoam and the white flowers from an old rose centerpiece from many years ago. I am trying to use goods from my stash to help keep costs down.

The white tablecloth is layered with an white opalescent table runner that has a 12 inch strip of grass cloth wallpaper laid down the center of it to help add a bit of neutral texture to this  "By The Sea" tablescape.   Plum Creek Place - Seashells and Roses Coastal Tablescape - DIY Shell Encrusted Candle Holders
White on white dinnerware is layered  onto the white tablecloth.  An off white napkin with a simple seashell napkin holder and white flatware help complete the sandy beach effect.
Longchamp water goblets and stemmed champagne glasses keep the neutral feel of the tablescape.
The white seabirds had their "legs" painted white (they were black) before they were allowed to land on this table.

  1. This is perfect for a "bridal party champagne breakfast" with a seaside feel. I really like how you've kept the overall look with the white and sand colours. So soothing and "beach wedding - like". Each layer of the dish stack and the table linens (great idea to use the wallpaper) is fab! Enjoyed seeing the shell encrusted candleholders too! My son is getting married in Mexico in Nov - this look would be perfect! Going back to pin!

  19. Hi Candy,

It's been TOO long without having had the pleasure of seeing your beautiful tablescapes, and so today's Seashells and Roses setting was such a refreshing surprise, especially, since it's been very, very hot and humid here in Toronto! Your seashell candles, marine motif dishes, creamy white roses and cute cranes were the perfect dose of breezy, coastal flair!

I'd love to be included in your pretty table linen giveaway; thanks for putting such a sweet setting together for us to see how lovely it all is!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friend.

  20. Candy, I've had major oral surgery and have not felt up to visiting blogs. I almost missed the deadline to enter this lovely giveaway. Your beach themed table is beautiful. I love all of the layers of linens and the plate stacks. Your shell candlesticks are brilliant. The whole setting is so serene. It just feels like a peaceful day on the beach. Happy Blogaversary.

  21. I know you have to be very uncomfortable after your oral surgery. Thank you so much for visiting, I am so happy that you were able to visit before tomorrows deadline for my blog anniversary give-away tomorrow. Other than being a little time consuming the candle holders were relatively easy to make. I do hope you are feeling better soon.... Candy

  23. Sorry for the lie on my previous (but in next creation's) post. I'm definitely a beachy person ahahahahahahah. When you're doing the beach decor and suggestions.
I'm not ready for the Autumnish inspiration or giveaway ahahahah. Now that I found out I like the beach I want to wallow in the feeling and creative ideas you brought up with this
I'm stealing the beachy look and suggestions to create a very humble tablescape this Sunday when the in laws are coming for lunch.
Going to delight myself (and despair - how am I going to pull this?! ahahahah) with your previous tutorial.
    Thank you for sharing.
