Blooming crocus bulbs are only available for a couple of weeks each year. The crocuses that I am using in the centerpieces today came from our local grocery store. For whatever reason they were marked down to one dollar a pot. I used six pots and combined them with the violas that will get planted in the yard when the weather warms up a bit. I kept the color pallet on the neutral side for the most part. I had already bought the wooden planters and the leaf plates prior to
Kathleen's Let's Dish Challenge for using birds~eggs~nests for her Let's Dish on April 9th. I had the nests and eggs in my stash from previous years. I wanted to keep with a more muted design and was on the lookout for birds that would blend in with the rest of the design. As luck would have it Marc's (my favorite close-out store) just happened to get some small brown birds that suited my plan perfectly.
The wooden planters and the small brown birds came from Marc's last month at 99 cents each. The table runners, napkins, large & small leaf plates, and the rabbit ornament all came from Marc's. The dragonfly water glasses came from Goodwill, the chargers are from Hobby Lobby (only $1.50 each at half price), the flatware was thrifted too.
The hand blown etched water glasses are for my DIL, she loves dragonflies. The S&P shakers are for dear DIL too.
I added a colorful Welcome Spring sign to the table after I had taken most of the pictures.
The stack starts with the burlap charger from Hobby Lobby.
For the Dinner plate I am using the Park Design Enchanted Forest leaf plate the I found at Marc's.
For the salad plates I used the same Certified International Patricia Brubaker floral plate that I used in the Bunny table last week. It just suited the design so well. The napkins look as if they were made to go with the salad plates.
The small leaf shaped B&B is from the Enchanted Forest collection too
The stack is topped with a rabbit ornament that is from Marjolein Bastin's Nature's Journey collection. Also found at Marc's.
The eggs and dragonflies are hidden around in the planters.
The rabbit candle holders are from Marc's several years ago.
Chetah (my cat) happened to stroll by just as I took this picture of the rabbit candle holder.
The bunnies have been multiplying throughout the house. They have taken up temporary residence on the shelves in the dining room. All of the bunnies are thrifted.

My goodness, Candy! That is absolutely beautiful. Your whole table setting is gorgeous as a whole but each individual element is just lovely all by itself. I just LOVE this table!!!! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteAnd they're OUT!
ReplyDeleteYou have the sweetest Bunny Collection. And that table... with me there would be only problem - I'd be turning a mad woman if anyone would bother to ask "what's for dinner?" and thinking they could spoil all that effect.
Some things are meant to be in exhibitions and this tablescape is one of them.
So lovely and the pieces - each - a work of art in its own.
I Love it!
Happy Ea(s)ter at Plum Creek Fairy Place!
Love,
Teresa
I saved your blog until last - and I'm glad I did - I'll carry the pictures in my head all the day long. I love everything - all those bunnies - the glasses, the flatware, the leaf and flower plates - it all goes so well together. The perfect spring table setting.
ReplyDeleteCandy, Candy, Candy...this is by far my favorite table of all the ones you have done...I ♥♥♥ everything about it! All the plates are gorgeous and the centerpiece, wow! You have a wonderful collection of bunnies.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Candy!

Wow....when you set a table, YOU set a TABLE. I can't stop staring at it...Love the boxes with flowers running down the center too!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! What a wonderful collection of Easter treasures. I love the chargers and flower plates!! New Follower.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jody
I agree with the above that when "you set a table, you set a table." I adore the crocus and violas taking center stage, but then all the plates and bunnies steal my heart. I have been going around to thrift stores lately due to you, but no nice bunnies to be had or plates either. I will keep trying. We are getting ready to paint soon to, so no decorating for me! I have to pin. Hoppy Easter
ReplyDeleteYour flower boxes are stunning!!! Wow, it all looks fabulous, Candy!!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Love your cabbage flower plates and your bunny collection is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful tablescape with so much detail with a perfect centerpiece. Your wooden boxes are the perfect way to plant your flower garden in the center. My favorite is your precious bunny candle holders. The bunny display is precious and a great place to showcase the collection!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!
Pam

ReplyDeleteLots of great layering happening here. You really have some nice collections of goodies!
ReplyDeleteLike the way you layered it and my what a great collection you have!
ReplyDeleteLoving the layers of pastels and those gorgeous dishes. The flower boxes are filled with beautiful blooms. This is a nice idea for a centerpiece. I'm intrigued with the base plate or charger. Are covered with burlap?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table...love those purple flowers! Gorgeous dishes.
ReplyDeleteCandy, Thank you for the wonderful comment on my post. Your tablescape is simply perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love the living flowers, they bring such life to the table and the hidden dragonflys are fantastic. The wooden flatware is beautiful and the burlap chargers are perfect for the theme.

Wow!!! A virtual bunny parade going on at your house! That's so cool!!! That's quite a collection!!!
ReplyDeleteYour place setting is so, so neat! I love the flowers and leaves! What a great way to express the newness of Spring! And the crocuses....SO beautiful!!! All the purples on the table are so suggestive of the name of your blog, and I think that's what makes this table that much more special!
You continue to amaze me with the great bargains you're able to grab up! I'm hoping some day to get that good at it! Have a great weekend!!!
Oh my goodness!! You really do have quite the collection! Where do I start you have so many beautiful moments all together here!! Such a gorgeous table! Marcs?? Really? you got those amazing leaf plates at Marcs?? I never see anything like that there!!! I love the flatware!! I had to go back to Alma's table from the Tablescaper to see if it was the same, close, but just a wee bit different - I just love that flatware. Well I did find the burlap chargers at Hobby Lobby but was only fortunate enough to get five, even called my daughter for her to check out her Hobby Lobby but they were all gone. Anyway, your purple crocuses are beautiful and really steal the show. Fabulous post!! Enjoyed it greatly!!!
ReplyDeleteThey still have the leaf plates at the Marc's in Brunswick. If you have another Marc;s nearby check there. Some of the stores have them with the Easter decor and some have them with the other plates. I am lucky that I have three different Marc's stores within a ten minute ride. When I found the burlap chargers my local Hobby Lobby they only had three in stock the cashier called and ordered three more for me that came in a couple of days later.
DeleteOMGod sweet Candy! Your table is to die for! Everything in it is amazing, from the gorgeous dishes, the flatware, the birds and bunnies, etc! You know how to set an enchanting table and Kathleen should be so proud of you, as you met her challenge in a perfect way!

Hi Candy,
ReplyDeleteI feel as if I've just visited the dining room of a bunny family, who lives in an enchanted forest, and have invited me over for a most delicious meal or carrot delicacies and chit chat! Your crocuses and violas are so pretty in those pots and the dragonfly motif is magic!
Thanks for sharing such a fresh setting to welcome the spring, which has yet to truly show its face around our parts!
Happy Easter!
